Rehab: In The Mist Of Deliverance

Deliverance isn’t just a moment, it’s a lifestyle.

“God wants you to be delivered from what you have done and from what has been done to you - Both are equally important to Him.”― Joyce Meyer, Beauty for Ashes: Receiving Emotional Healing

I truly thank God for deliverance. What is Deliverance really? Deliverance means to be rescued or set free. So in a Christianity definition, it means to be rescued from bondage or chains of sin, or any attacks from the enemy. Hallelujah!

For me, I look at deliverance as a place of rehab where addicts, adulterers, liars, fornicators, homosexuals, killers,  people who suffer from depression, anxiety, bitterness, and jealousy, etc, where they can be set free by God. In my case, I’m currently in rehab for fornication. It’s funny, a lot of us Christians get excited about deliverance and we should be, but what about STAYING delivered? After the praise break ends, after you leave the altar, after you leave a great church service, the enemy is waiting for you outside the church door. It can happen through a text, a social media post, phone call, or a family member to disrupt your focus on deliverance. Deliverance isn’t just a moment, it’s a lifestyle. Now, the reason I titled this post “In the midst of deliverance” because I’m speaking in a  place of where I’m in the process by being freed of fornication and everything else that ties with it such as pride, control, bitterness, and guilt/shame.

I prevent myself from watching heavily sexual contents in movies, songs, books, etc...because sexual contents are pretty much EVERYWHERE. Lol It’s becoming bolder and it has a huge platform in all social media, movies, TV, and more. Another thing I do is letting God to RENEW my MIND, EVERY...SINGLE... DAY.

[Side note:] Even when I was a virgin, my mind was filthy. I was curious about sex, I wondered how it felt, and occasionally been troubled on why do I need to wait before marriage. Plus, I was addicted to pornography at that time. So even though my physical body was not invaded by a man at that time, my mind was invaded with sexual fantasies and other impurities.

  • So now, as an EX-fornicator, I have to change my mind every day by feeding myself with the word of God, constantly (and I mean constantly and consistently) cast DOWN my thoughts, stay productively busy, and mediate on Godly things. I’m careful about what I watch, see, hear, touch, and feel. The whole process of deliverance comes with discipline, repentance, and grace. But trust me, God WILL help you through it. He is with you every step of the way and ultimately the biggest cheerleader in your entire life because He LOVES you, He sees the best in you, and He wants to do great things through you. Here are some of the scriptures that I'm currently focused on:

  • “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. (2) Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2 NLT

  • “We pull down every proud obstacle that is raised against the knowledge of God; we take every thought captive and make it obey Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5 GNT

  • “Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].” Philippians 4:8 AMP"

  • (8) Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. (9) Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me."  2 Corinthians 12:8-9 NLT

It’s doesn’t matter how far deep or how long you been in that mess, God can literally RESCUE you and set you free from it! Like the “Woman with the issue of Blood” [Matthew 9:20–22, Mark 5:25–34, Luke 8:43–48]. She suffered the disease for 12 long years and she gave away everything that she had for numerous treatments with no improvement of the disease. Until she heard, that Jesus was coming through her town, she went through the crowd of people and had FAITH that if she could TOUCH Jesus at the hem of his garment, then she will be healed. And when she did just that, Jesus turned around and eventually honored her and healed her because of her faith. Her faith made her healed, her faith made her whole from suffering that disease. There is absolutely positively NOTHING that God can NOT do and will NOT do. I truly believe it and I’ve heard several testimonies from people who were drug addicts, prostitutes, divorcees, people who had cancer or incurable diseases, and more.  God is STILL doing signs, miracles, and wonders day by day. He can definitely do the same in your life. He wants to save you and free you.

Love you guys!
